Whirlwind Month of Adventure!

Happy Thanksgiving All! I will be celebrating Saturday with several missionaries here in Kinshasa! This past month, has been quite an adventure showing my French friend the DRCongo!  We had some interesting, nail-biting, and exciting times! The memories that will not soon be forgotten! We visited many schools, churches, tourist sights (not many, but absolutely beautiful), prison (no picture-taking aloud), had long conversations, ate several Congolese lunches, and there were smiles, laughter, and some tears!  The "heart of Africa" will always touch the heart of those who are willing to open their mind and ears to it's "heartbeat." Congo has many heartbeats...whether it is horns honking, people yelling, men and women singing and dancing, or the rain, children laughing, or just the beat of a drum...it draws you to a place where there is nothing you can do, but listen.

The school that you see pictured here is considered one of the most dangerous and not because there are rebels nearby, but because of erosion. During the rainy season, this valley turns into a river and students are put in danger trying to get to school or leaving school while it is raining.  The administration fears that in a matter of a couple years, it will reach the edge of the school buildings and threaten to take them down the ravine. We walked 2km to get to this school. The videos give you an idea of the route. Please pray for wisdom and God ideas to help these schools with the many needs that they have. What an experience God has given me!!
