To Be a Student Again!

FALL is in the air!! (Or so I have heard and seen…) Here in Congo “the Rainy season” is in the air!  This means that the dust of the dry season is being washed away and the temperature is rising!  I have been busy observing in the schools where I did training, working with teachers and students in the classroom, and visiting new schools.

Recently, I met with the National Coordinator of the A/G schools here in Kinshasa and we have set up a plan to visit a new school each week for the next month or two. Some of these schools are in parts of the city that I have never been. I met one lady who has been the Director of the Primary school for almost 30 years!  She loves her students and her teachers.  The high school that is just next to this primary school, is the biggest I have seen here in Kinshasa.  They have a morning group of high school classes with over 600 students and an afternoon group of over 400 students! This secondary school has been running since 1966. What an adventure!! Spending time with these students and teachers has brought a sense of excitement to what God wants to do here in the DRCongo and in the lives of the Congolese people!  The needs are great, but God is GREATER! Would you pray with me that God would provide for these schools?  They each have their individual needs to function and be a school of excellence in this city.  I believe PRAYER works and I have encouraged these schools and their directors to pray. Some of their specific needs are desks, buildings to be built and finished, and the search for more land to build at a reasonable price.
The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective!   James 5:16

Here is a video of some girls playing a game with their feet. I am still trying to figure out how you win!
