A Field Trip in the Congo!
What does a field trip look like with over 200 students between the ages of 3-5? Excitement!! Joy!! Anticipation!! Learning!! Students from the LaBorne Maternelle school have been studying about the different kinds of art and how it is created. On Friday, March 7th over 200 students, 12 teachers & adults, boarded two large tour buses for the trip into the city. We went to visit the art museum (Beaux Arts Institute). The students had the opportunity to see art in action. They saw many students drawing nature, men sculpting out of clay and plaster, and a man carving a piece of art out of a tree trunk. There were many sculptures around the park and many some beautiful paintings on the walls inside and outside the buildings. Once our tour was finished we all sat in the park for a bite to eat and then returned to the school. It turned out to be a beautiful, fun day for all! This day was truly an answer to prayer for the teachers. They had prayed weeks in advance for good weather and no traffic and that is just what they got! It is unheard of to have no traffic, but God hears and answers! I hope to go with them to the zoo next month!!
